Delray Lakes is a gated single-family community north-west of downtown Delray Beach, built mainly around 1988 and again around 2000. The homes are typically three bedrooms and two bathrooms in about 2,000 square feet with a two-car garage, mostly single story, in colonial, Mediterranean and ranch styles. About half have a private pool.
It is close in without being downtown: the Tri-Rail station is just over a mile away, a golf course is a mile and a half, and the beach is under three miles east. Within a mile there are a dozen restaurants, nine playgrounds, four parks and three gyms. There is a monthly homeowners association fee covering the gate and the shared grounds.
