History

Boca Raton has an astonishing history beginning from the name of the beach and to its inhabitants. Boca is the Spanish word for mouth or inlet and Raton stands for the mouse. The geographical existence of Boca Raton is really comical since there is a case of mistaken identity associated with it. Originally, Boca Raton was at Biscayne Bay near present day Miami Beach. In the 19th century, the name was mistakenly applied to the current Lake Boca Raton. In the year1920, Boca Raton witnessed significant boom in real estate and world class resort community was planned. Tequesta Indians are the known earliest inhabitants of the region residing along the coastline.

A cool breeze that touches the skin softly with warm weather is experienced throughout the year. The dry season is at its peak in December while heavy rainfall is experienced in April. Boca Raton serves as a tourist centre for individuals around the world.
