Tamarac was founded in 1963 by developer Kenneth Behring as an age-restricted community, and although the city long ago opened to all ages, that origin still shapes the housing stock. A large share of the inventory is single-story villas and small houses in 55-plus communities, alongside the golf neighborhoods of Woodmont and the Woodlands and newer development on the western side.
It is central Broward County, bordered by Lauderhill, North Lauderdale and Coral Springs, and it is one of the more affordable places in the county to buy a detached house.

Working with us in Tamarac
Age restrictions, association approval and rental rules narrow the buyer pool in much of this city, and that is a marketing question as much as a pricing one. Knowing which buyers can actually close on your property changes where we put it in front of them.

Tamarac single-family, month and year to date
The single-family median moved from $415,000 in August 2025 to $375,000 in August 2026, and median days on market went from 45 to 53. Condominiums and townhouses are a separate market here: 49 closed in August 2026 at a median of $196,000, and they are reported separately on this page.
Month and year-to-date are shown together on purpose: one month in a single city can swing on a handful of closings, and the year-to-date line is what keeps it honest.
